A war of words between President Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has people looking up the word "dotard." Trump told the UN General Assembly Tuesday that the U.S. would "totally destroy" North Korea if necessary to defend itself and its allies. Kim responded to the threat Thursday by calling Trump a "mentally deranged dotard," who is unfit to have command of a country. Shortly after Kim's statement, the word "dotard" went viral. Merriam-Webster tweeted that searches for "dotard" were as a high as a kite.
According to the online dictionary, a "dotard" is someone in "a state of senile decay marked by decline of mental poise."
